Summer Series Results from Mt Eden

That was a real contrast to last week, wasn't it! Last week our few intrepid competitors were at risk of being either blown or washed away - this week there were large numbers more at risk or collapsing from the sticky heat. However most seemed to enjoy the chance to be out in the fresh air and to admire the views from the top of Mt Eden. One of our younger competitors commented that they could see the whole world from the top of course 4! I had many complementary comments to pass on to our junior member who had set the courses for you to enjoy tonight. Thank you Imogene - they were both interesting and challenging and thanks also to all the others who lent a hand tonight.

A very big welcome to the many first timers there tonight - we look forward to seeing you many more times. It is great to see many folk coming along with their friends and work mates in tow - keep up the good work!

Next week the event is again on a Tuesday, 7th February at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga. You can entered either on Bells Rd, off the Pakuranga Highway or Lady Marie Drive, off Cascades Rd. While you are marking this event on your calendar, make sure you also mark down Monday, 20th February, which is the first of our 2 real night events - ie in the DARK! Also Sunday, 26th February marks the first of our Sunday Summer Series Forest events. This is not to be missed. If you think park orienteering is fun, just wait till you have given it a go in the forest!

A challenge for you! We lost one of 'Orienteers on Roads' wooden street signs today. It was on the road by the roundabout at the start of the climb up the hill. Any of you are running in the area, we would be grateful if you could look out for it - such things that go missing have usually only been moved a short distance, but in the failing light we could not find it tonight.)
