Winter Night Street Events 2010 - Results - Mt Albert 12 May 2010

The first of the Winter Night Street series certainly started with a seasonal blast - high winds and rain throughout Auckland during the day. However, for the event we were lucky that it did improve and I found it was very enjoyable running around on the wet footpaths , visiting the train station track junction control, going up the path with lots of steps, and running right past the distinctive flowering yellow tree.  Thanks to Norm for planning the control locations for the event, giving us lots of options. Thanks to Joanna and Alistair for organizing the series and for the recovery French onion soup!

Winter Night Street Events 2010 -  Mt Albert Wed 12 May 2010
Started
at Phyllis Street reserve, Mt Albert, at the end of Phyllis St, off Springleigh Ave

Format: Maps given out at 6.55pm, mass start at 7pm.  For this event you receive a black and white street map with 20 controls circles. You choose to visit any 6, 10, 14 or 18 controls with the aim of completing your course in about 1 hour. We have a cup of soup awaiting you on return.
BRING A TORCH. This is a great way to have fun and get some exercise now the nights have closed in on us. Cost: Non member: senior/student/family $6/$3/$12, member: $4/$2/$8
