35th SummerNav Field1 Lloyd Elsmore Park Event: 14 2023-02-28
Planner: Alicia McGivern    -    Controller: Llew McGivern
Although the ground was still amazingly wet in places it was a lovely night for running around Lloyd Elsmore tonight. Our thanks to Alicia and Llewelyn for all the work they put in for the courses. It was great seeing more new faces – we look forward to seeing you back at an event soon.

Next week the event is again on Tuesday in the Domain, starting from Titoki St, behind the museum but before that we have our one true night event of the year, on the great Ambury Park. This is a wonderful place to explore in the dark with great views looking out to the lights across the harbour. If you have not tried night orienteering  before do come along and give  it a go – it really is lots of fun. Just be sure to bring a good headlamp or torch along with batteries that are not going to run out! We will be using electronic timing at this event, like we do in the forest, so if you have an e card make sure you bring it along. We will have e cards there to borrow for those without a card. Young ones can start at dusk (about 8.15) and others once it gets truly dark. Last starts by 9.15. Club members, this is your chance to come and practice your night orienteering before we all head off to Taupo the following weekend for the Katoa Po interclub night relays. Entries must all be in by Saturday.
