Well, that was a night. The arrival of the new trailer that is to become the AOC ‘campermatic’ (? new description needed). Two ambulances were called. Many youth groups were in attendance. A fine set of courses were available. The memory course was excellent. Thank you very much to Smirnova family for all your effort. Everyone please note that this family has the wedding of Kate this weekend and they put all that time into our event. Thank you all so much. We wish you all a really great day on Sunday and our very best wishes for the future Kate. I’m sure I say that from all those attending tonight.
Did you see the beautiful moon as it rose above the main track alongside the stream? Those out late will have been stunned by the beautiful sight.
Thank you to everyone who helped out with the medical emergencies. We are a great community. One patient wasn’t an orienteer but she was given lots of help as was Mervyn, a stalwart orienteer, who eventually went to hospital for x-rays. All the very best Mervyn – we all hope you are back on your feet very soon.
Note: there is a forest event on Sunday – starting at 12 noon. Look on the Auckland Club website for details and how to enter. Entries close on Friday. The weekend after this one (14 & 15 March) is Katoa Po – the famous inter-club night relays in Taupo. This is a great event and there are associated events too. Please look on the website for details and make sure you put in an entry.
Next week we are at Craigavon Park, in the carpark at the west end of Connaught Rd in the Blockhouse Bay/ Green Bay region. This event is again on a Tuesday (the 10th).
