A second night when we just got all tidied up before the rain came. It is a busy park, we’re told that Wednesdays are especially so. Sorry to those who had to hunt for a parking spot. Thanks very much to George and Nick for all the work in preparing for tonight. Nick couldn’t even be there (in the USA – ?? watching the elections???) and so left George with the on-the-day work. First time setters - they both did a great job. Thank you to them.
Sorry about the controls that shifted. XA was thrown into the creek near where it was placed and someone retrieved it (a very big thanks to them) so most didn’t have a problem but apologies to those for whom it was missing when they passed by. Another control, GE, was shifted numerous times by the youngsters who lived nearby but we kept retrieving it. There was at least one other control that wasn’t where it was originally placed. Occasionally these things happen, not too often, because of the public places we orienteer.
Next week our event is on Wednesday (11th) at Ambury Regional Park (near Mangere Bridge). Because this is a farm park no dogs can come – sorry. This is a very nice place for a picnic so plan to have your dinner in very pleasant surrounds.
